Friends and family!

So the first and larger section of the semester is over, I’ve taught my last Ephesian class, which is sad to say but also a blessing I’ve learned a lot from studying for that class.
The last part of Ephesians, chapter six is one of my favorite sections of the Bible, so I really enjoyed getting to teach on it... If I could encourage or probably better stated exhort you with a little summary of the class...

We all need to remember that as a Christian, one who has come to the understanding that they need a savior and has accepted Jesus as their personal savior, WE ARE AT WAR!! Daily, we live in a war zone... We need to live with this soberness, not in crippling fear rather sober awareness. We need to armor ourselves, and God has given us armor.  He not only calls us to battle, but He armors us. Not just with any armor, He gives us His armor...His armor is spiritual. The war is spiritual, we’re not fighting against flesh and blood but it says in chapter 6 that our fight is against the spiritual rulers and authorities of this present darkness, satan and his demons... So our armor and our warfare must be on the spiritual level as well. And it goes on to list all the different attributes of the armor but the key to them all is that their source is from the Bible the Word of God. So armor and equip yourself by reading the word. This chapter here is not in regards to salvation but living a victorious Christian life. They say knowing is half the battle, know the word , know the promises. And I say that over half is prayer,  “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18 ESV) I’ve heard prayer called the long range weapon of our spiritual battle. And here it tells us that our prayers aren’t just for our benefit but for “all the saints.” And to be honest with you all I’m not sure how this all works, how do the prayers of a man change an omnipotent God... But I know that God has instructed us to pray to Him, lift up our hearts to Him, and to lift up out brothers and sisters to Him, so that is exactly what I will do. Not out of blind obedience, but out of knowledge of the undeniable character of God, knowing that our God is not cruel to have us do something that doesn’t have a purpose.

I have completed my teaching portion for this semester, but not my responsibilities here at Calvary Chapel Bible College...

And I’ve heard news that for next semester I’ll be co-teaching through the pastoral epistles, (1&2 Timothy and Titus). So that will be a blast.  But for the rest of this semester we have block classes. Right now we have a well know central and south american pastor, Fausto Pflucker he’s been a pastor since he was 18 and half and has been pastoring for around 30 years. It’s been a blessing to have him around, He’s teaching Church History.

Between the end of weekly class and the start of block classes we needed to update our visas, so we made an all day bus ride down to my grandparents in Panama. It was such a blessing to see them. They were an amazing blessing not only to me but to the to all of us.   They let us stay at their house and they even took us out to dinner one night. In general they just took great care of us. It was nice to have a little vacation before staring the final part of the semester.

I just want to thank you all for your prayers and support. I’ve been learning a lot about prayer and how I don’t pray as much or or as often as I should be.  I don’t even know what to pray, but I take comfort in the fact of who God is, and as I grow and as we all grow in our knowledge of Him, we see more and more that He knows us better then anything.  He knows my heart and already knows whats best for us.

I found this little guy hanging out in the backyard.

Aaron and I put together a little banquet for the students,
just a fun night to dress up, go into town and eat some delicious food.

Spending some time in the man cave with Brent
playing some darts on our home made board.

Here's a quickshot at the orphanage I took while playing some fútbol (soccer).

I got a couple packages this last month, and I wanted to thank my parents for sending me one, thanks for the contacts, now I can see! And I also wanted to thank Mally-Rae for filling a box for me and Charley and Holly for sending it my way, it was such a blessing!

Some times an interns got do what an interns got to do...

Here's a couple pics from our trip to Panamá...
Here we are waiting for the bus to Panamá to arrive... It showed up an hour and half later then scheduled, bus here run on their own time it seems...

We arrived in San Carlos at about 2am...
My grandparents took real good care of us. It was such a blessing to be able to see them.

San Carlos is just of the pacific coast, so we enjoyed that.

San Isidro, Costa Rica... We live about 15 min bus from the center of town.
Story time with the orphans, the little boy standing up front is David of David and Goliath.

Please keep our study in prayer, it is growing with is awesome, but also presents new need and problems to solve, which we're not complaining it's a blessing!
